Sky Live: Heavens Above Viewer App Reviews

Very good.

I really like this app, but coming from the creators of Star Walk, I expected the music I am so used to hearing using their apps! I suggest adding the music maybe in your feature video of the app, other than that, very good with information and what is given. I really like it and it helps me with star gazing out in the night.

Wheres the iPad version?

Cool little app. I find it very useful. Only giving it 3 stars because its not very usable on my iPad. Developer needs to make an iPad view for the app.

Really handy

Great way to prepare for looking at the stars, etc. Works ok on the iPad but it would be nice if they put some effort into that. With the iPads big screen, you should see all the data without scrolling.

Good app so far, but could use some slight improvements.

All I think is missing is the ability to use metric units, and to sort cities by country. (That way, for smaller countries where Location Services arent really good, we could choose which city we are closest to ourselves without going through a massive list) Just my 0.02$

A fine app for a quick answer to "what can I see tonight?"

This app doesnt do a whole lot, but it works fine, has good info, and presentation is excellent. Its clearly not intended for telescope use, just casual, naked-eye viewing (no DSOs, and not even all the planets). What you see in the screen shots is pretty much all there is to it: you get weather, rise and set times for sun, moon, and the naked-eye visible planets, and which constellation each one is in. All the info is in one, long, vertically scrolling screen. If you swipe horizontally, you get forecasts for the next day, the next, etc for 6 days. Yes, theres an in-app purchase to add the other planets and ISS, but its FREE (so I dont know what people are complaining about). I can only assume the developers did it this way because either 1) it used to not be free, or 2) maybe it wont be free in the future? The app also integrates with Star Walk, made by the same dev.

Adware.

App may be ok. But the constant prompting to purchase other apps is inappropriate in a paid app. Greedy greedy developer that is not interested in the user experience.

Ok but is missing some features :(

Over all is a good app for stargazing but is lacking in some areas. First of all the manual doesnt work. Every time I press it it does nothing. Second of all when you have a notification on the lock screen and swipe to open the app shuts down after a few seconds. I wish they would fix these problems soon and if they would I would rate them five stars! But until then I give them a three. :(

Not that good

Needs a little work.

Barely does anything.

This probably isnt what youre looking for. Search for Sky Guide and StarMap 3D+ instead. Theyre amazing. Theyre the ones where you can point your phone at the sky and have your phone superimpose text and outlines over the camera image of what youre looking at. The SkyLive has a misleading graphic that suggests does all kinds of high-speed stuff, but it doesnt provide much more than sunrise and sunset.

Hope to add Aurora forecast

Hope to add Aurora forecast

Crashes occasionally, but still AWESOME!!

Out of all my astronomy apps, I find myself using this one the most often. Ive spent more than $10,000 on my astronomy and astrophotography gear, but the $.99 I spent on this app is probably the best investment Ive ever made. The seeing rating and percentage is quite accurate, and seems to update hourly. I highly recommend this app to anyone who isnt using a sky-monitoring device. Worth every penny!

Apple Watch update not very good

First, the iPhone version shows 4 planets Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn in the sky and the times to see them. I only see Venus and Mars showing on my Apple Watch. And it does not show the rise, set time. The back ground is cool but with the lite type it is just to hard to read on my Watch. See if you can re design the app so the text is bigger and maybe in a different color so it is easier to read. Maybe even a different background might be needed to make things easier to read. Swiping in from the right could show moon phases S an example. With the small screen of the apple Watch I dont think the static page works on the watch.

Beautiful app

Exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use, beautiful UI and a Notification Center widget for quick viewing. I use this all the time to see viewing conditions and rise/set times for planets before I drag my scope out.

Crash, crash, crash

Love the app but this build broke it. I have an iPhone 6+ and it crashes every single time. Please fix!

Used to work

I think this app was neat about seven months ago. It was a consolidated view of sky live, something that was kind of nice, and I referred to it periodically. I rated it four stars then. But for the past six months it does not open at all. It annoys me that I paid money for an app that is completely unusable, so my recommendation is to avoid it - it is unusable.

Very limited

Expected a map of the sky. Got some pretty photos, a moonrise timer, and lots of ads. Very disappointing.

Ignore the bad reviews!

This app is great! I love the ability to just pull down my Notification Center to see what the star viewing % is! My only suggestion is that they could improve the searching for citys and places but current location is good enough. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to look at the stars!

Amazing app

I love this app and use it a few times a week to check to see when I should go stargazing, but with the current version it keeps crashing every time I open the app.

Extravagant!!

Great app, but its missing a slot showing upcoming local times to see meteor showers, comets, eclipses etc. it would be great if they could add it!!

Not good at all

There is a reason it is free. Not really worth the time I took to download it.
